Prologue

I wrote this prologue more recently at the time when we decided to produce the following journal and 'publish' it for others to take an interest in.

101 Introduction

This introduction to my reminiscences was originally typed when I was near the end of my initial nursing training in the mid-’sixties and found that my favourite type of mackintosh was disappearing from the shops.

102 Early incidents

Some innocent childish incidents involving rainwear and my stepbrother Jocelyn, particularly the raspberry picking episode.

Together with the Introduction and some of the earlier of the following sections, this was typed on an old fashioned typewriter and took no little time with lots of corrections and sno-pak. Much later on, I re-typed it on a word-processor, then later still converted it to MyWord on our PC at home.

103 Early ’teens

School raincoats and mackintoshes. Jocelyn, usually known as Jos, admits to what has become a lifelong obsession. Dressing up in the summerhouse. Childish games involving blindfolds and hoods.

104 Late ’teens.

Jos off to University. Unaided by Jos, I develop the mackintosh interest.

.

Re-arousal of Jos’s similar interest and back to not so childish games.

105 Summer holiday escapades

At last - uninhibited mackintosh and other related (!) activities.

106 My Austrian Holiday

I buy myself what was to become my favourite mackintosh

107 Idea! A Fancy Dress dance

No prizes for guessing how Jos wants me dressed for the Fancy dress competition and in the process of which, I acquire two further mackintoshes, one to become a life-long favourite.

 108 A special girl friend

Lucy, very willing and very amenable, would even like to be tied up and tortured!  [ subject to final edit ].

110 Jos’s adventures in the Midlands

Jos, away from parental and sisterly influences, develops an unexpected talent and gives me a demonstration.

So I’m introduced to Miss Enid

This is just a photo from the web - no

           connection with us.

To put you into the right mood for our

                   journal.

If it doesn't - don't read any further!

Episodes 110 to 117 are transfered to our separate website as I can't vouch for their total truthfulness, as I can, and do, for those here (See address added in Episode 110).

111 Miss Enid

Jos’s account of a teen-age encounter with our spinster neighbour, Miss Enid

112 Jos meets Steven in a mackintosh

Jos meets a shiny black rubber-clad individual at Birmingham Airport. Interesting adventures follow.

113 Steven becomes Stephanie.

114 Stephanie’s excursions

115 Jos writes himself about acquirung his first black rubber-surfaced mackintosh and goes hunting for ‘digs’ wearing it.

116 Jos writes himself about other events

How Jos, having acquired his first black rubber-surfaced mackintosh, in his spare time makes contributions to a certain magazine describing his adventures in it.

117 Jos in South Africa

120 Jos and I are now approaching 30 years old

121 The overall black and hooded latex suit

122 My expensive Gaberdine

123 More on SBR

124 Me and my new SBR mackintosh

125 Bondage Party

129 Domestic Bliss

130 Collecting for charity

Finally, here is something a little different. It is not written by me nor is it written by Jos.

It is written by a certain ‘Miss Mackintosh’ (but eventually typed by me, needless to say)
